Sandhammaren Havsbad

1 Sandhammarvägen Löderup

Sandhammaren is a well-known and popular beach on the southeastern coast of the Swedish region of Skåne. It is located near the villages of Löderup and Kåseberga and belongs to the Ystad municipality. Sandhammaren is famous for its fine, white sand, considered one of the best in all of Sweden, and the impressive dune landscapes that surround it.

The beach stretches over several kilometres and offers plenty of space for visitors, making it an ideal location for families, sun worshippers, and nature lovers. The shallow water makes the beach particularly child-friendly, and the expansive sand surfaces invite sunbathing, playing, and relaxing.

Another highlight of Sandhammaren is the lighthouse located near the beach. The Sandhammarens fyr, as it is called in Swedish, was built in 1862 and is now a popular subject for photographs and a historical landmark of the region. The lighthouse is often open to visitors and offers an impressive view over the coast and the sea.

The surroundings of Sandhammaren are also known for their rich flora and fauna. The area is part of a nature reserve that houses various rare plant species and a variety of bird species. There are well-marked hiking trails that lead through the dunes and forests and allow visitors to explore the natural beauty of the region.

The infrastructure at Sandhammaren Beach is well developed. There are car parks, toilets, and sometimes small kiosks or cafes nearby that offer snacks and drinks. During the summer months, the beach can be quite busy, but due to its size, you can usually find a quiet spot.
